The history of events is often the clearest indicator that a person is unconscious due to choking.

A person unconscious from choking will be due to a lack of oxygen in their lungs.

Remember to check the person’s mouth for visible objects that may be causing the obstruction.

This check should be completed before each set of rescue breaths.

Only attempt to remove visible objects.
