Hypothermia is preventable. It is a condition that occurs when the body’s core temperature falls below thirty-five degrees Celsius.

Core temperature simply relates to the internal temperature of the body.

Hypothermia develops as a result of a lowering of the core temperature due to external factors such as wind, rain, and cold.

Whilst complaining about being cold a person with a temperature above thirty-five degrees is unlikely to have hypothermia.

Once the core temperature drops below the thirty-five-degree threshold the situation becomes a medical emergency.

Critical hypothermia will lead to unconsciousness.

In worst case scenarios death will follow.
