A medical alert is a tool that identifies a person’s illnesses and medical conditions.
Its role is to speak for the person when they cannot.
A medical alert may be found worn around the neck, the wrists or ankles or carried as a wallet card.
For people with autism, a medical alert may be worn as a shoe tag.
A medical alert has information pertinent to the wearer.
There may also be information on the medical alert that describes the specifics of the wearer’s condition for example asthma.
